Rossini: La Cenerentola
The Cinderella story comes to effervescent life in Rossini's magical romance. The kind but unfortunate Angelina, dressed in rags, serves her vain stepsisters and conceited father while dreaming of a happier life. When a handsome courtier arrives seeking a bride for Prince Ramiro, Angelina's relatives selfishly scheme to save the family fortunes with a royal marriage. Meanwhile the prince's entourage subtly secures a happy ending for "la Cenerentola". Fully staged production with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, sung in Italian with English supertitles.
